Anybody else watching the Senate on CSPAN 2? Reid just had his "Carl Rove' amendment to the Homeland Security funding bill read and spoke for about five minutes bashing Rove and Bush.
THEN, the clerk read an amendment proposed by Bill Frist that any office holder who discloses classified FBI information on the Senate floor and uses it to denigrate the U.S. military should have HIS security clearence removed. DURBIN alert!
Wow! Great stuff. Turn on CSPAN 2 immediately!

Bingo. Plus the Frist amendment was only one that modified the Reid amendment. Yes or no votes on 'Frist' were academic in that 'Reid' was exposed for the partisan hack-job it was and sure to fail.

What's with the rush of Republican no's? This was a good move on the Republican's part. They can vote no (or yes) for both the Frist and Reid ammendments and look good on princiapl. They can catch the Dems voting no on the Frist amendment and yes on the Reid amendment, showing how partisan they are. And ultimately they can defeat both amendments without giving the Dems any ammo.

The expression on Stevens' face when he was talking to Coleman was great. "This crap is a complete waste of my time" is what it looked like. LOL.

Who called 53 voting this down? Looks like you were right!
To: rhema
It went down by straight party-line vote, it appears.

I called 53, but the makeup is different than what I anticipated. There were no GOP defections that I heard (among those that showed up to vote).
