Anybody else watching the Senate on CSPAN 2? Reid just had his "Carl Rove' amendment to the Homeland Security funding bill read and spoke for about five minutes bashing Rove and Bush.
THEN, the clerk read an amendment proposed by Bill Frist that any office holder who discloses classified FBI information on the Senate floor and uses it to denigrate the U.S. military should have HIS security clearence removed. DURBIN alert!
Wow! Great stuff. Turn on CSPAN 2 immediately!
So there is no majority possible here right? Because no Dim is going to vote for this amendment>
LOL!!!!!
Conrad- No
To me, it sounds more like a "Oh, you want to make a bill about Rove and other government employees, well here's one that includes you too" kind of thing.
Talent- No
Feinstein- No
Roberts- No
Graham- No
Chambliss- no
Brownback- No
Thune- no
Carper- no
Voinavich = McCain's jockstrap holder
Do-mini-chi- Aye
What's with the rush of Republican no's?
Are they lily-livered, or are they just deciding it's lost, so they'll go for political points.
Even George Allen is voting no now.
No its on the Reid one now I think.
Specter is a Republican. It's just that he's a Liberal Republican and folks confuse that to mean he's a "RINO". IMO, he is the only genuine Liberal Republican in the senate however. The others (Snowe, Chafee, Collins) are Democrats in Republican cloth.
I have thoroughly enjoyed myself, how about you?
Thomas- No
The clerk has left his microphone on...LOL
They shouldn't have amended Reid, they should have put up their own amendment to the original bill, then passed Frist and voted down Reid.
That too. It is a "nuanced" bill. LOL
LOL
34-62
Sessions- No
Neither amendment should be in the bill. The Frist amendment was just to keep the Dems from completely hijacking the debate - and it worked.
Yes, this has been a surprisingly great afternoon. A lot of Pubs voting against this now but let's wait and see how many Dems vote no on the Reid amendment!
Now the Reid Amendment
"Yes, this has been a surprisingly great afternoon."
Why? At best, we can hope the stupid amendment the RATS brought up loses. How's that a win for us?
