Be fair.
My attitude toward JvdS is not "benevolent." It's an attempt to use my own experience with teenaged boys as a basis from which I try to distinguish "sociopathy" from typical teenaged boy behavior; and to be objective by trying to sort out hard evidence from mere malicious rumor.
Also I have posted several times that I too have a beautiful, intelligent, blond daughter who is much like Natalee. And that if she disappeared, I too would go to the ends of the earth to find her.
So I think I can see myself in the shoes of both sets of parents. That does not make me favor one side over the other. Clearly any parent has to feel the most acute sympathy for the Holloway-Twittys. They are living a parent's worst nightmare.
Question? Being a self-acclaimed expert on teen-age boys due to owning a couple of them yourself - would either of your sons leave their "date for the night" ALONE on a beach in the middle of the night - go home, sleep, get up and go to school with no obvious 2nd thoughts? Also, consider that this "son" knew his "date" was from another country - the beach was too far for her to walk back to her hotel - and perhaps too incoherent to take care of herself. You liken Joran to your sons as being typical teenage boys. All three of my sons were definite chick magnets as teenagers - NONE of them would have done this and if any of their friends had - they would have corrected that situation immediately. Based on FACTS, Joran is not a typical teenage boy.
