Mr. Wilson wasn't a whistleblower but was a partisan trying to discredit the Iraq War in an election campaign. Wilson lied about who recommended him for the mission. He stated several times to the press that it was the VP when in fact it was his wife.
All Karl Rove did was set the record straight and expose Mr. Wilson for the liar that he is. On the "no underlying crime" point, moreover, no less than the New York Times and Washington Post now agree. So do the 36 major news organizations that filed a legal brief in March aimed at keeping Mr. Cooper and the New York Times's Judith Miller out of jail. ...
Why is it that Miller refuses to testify to who her unnamed source is. In fact someone reported that whoever the source is, he or she has consented to the disclosure? On the other hand, perhaps there is no such person? It wouldn't be the first time that a reporter with a liberal agenda made up a story. Have we forgotten Dan Rather already?
This notion that the press can only be free if they can quote anonymous sources is a sham and cover for operatives who propagandize with the purpose of influencing public opinion. What they really want is the freedom to lie.
Since Matt Cooper is married to Mandy Gruenwald -- minion of the Queen of the FBI files, Hillary Clinton, one wonders what kind of relationship Judith Miller has with Hillary? Could the oridinal SOURCE be none other than Hillary Clinton? Perhaps that is why people are willing to go to jail to protect the source. They wouldn't be the first folks to be jailed for the Clintons..
Not only that, Miller didn't even publish a story -- so why do they want her "source"?
