UP govt: train blast a terrorist attack

Lucknow: The blast in the Shramjeevi Express in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur district, which killed nine persons, appeared to be a terrorist attack with Uttar Pradesh and the Centre today pointing to the planting of an explosive device and a timer to set it off.

UP principal secretary (home) Alok Sinha, who visited the blast site yesterday, told reporters here that the explosives were kept in a briefcase planted in the packed general compartment of the Delhi-bound train.

He said a timer device could have been used to detonate the blast in the train and ruled out the explosion as an accident.

"Some wire and other materials seized from the blast site suggest that a timer device could have been used to trigger the blast yesterday evening," said Sinha, adding "it was neither an accidental blast nor a cylinder blast".

He said vital material has been seized from the site by forensic experts and all state agencies have been deployed to carry out investigations to arrive at a final conclusion.

Naw, just like your local mailman, law enforcement, security personnel, court personnel, housekeepers, chefs, etc. they can buy their uniforms online or at uniform stores. That should make you a tad more relieved (or NOT). By the way, did you notice badges can be purchased the same way?
