Any older FReepers remember a movie (Charlie Chaplin?) about someone trying this for free food?

So he was expecting a vacation at Club Fed. He must not have read the fine print. The feds reserve the right to change the itinerary.

Nesbitt's plan, after researching the law, was to go back to federal prison for a short time for a simple theft charge, just long enough to get free medical care and get out. But this week, an Orange County judge sentenced him to 16 months in state prison.
Nesbitt went to federal prison 15 years ago, because his plan to sell what he assumed to be out-dated unclassified material to the Russians for tens of thousands of dollars and then get hired by the United States government as a counter-spy also backfired.
Not exactly Our Man Flint is he?

He should have picked a Federal Reserve to heist.

Very dumb. If he wanted a federal prison sentence he should have committed a crime that liberals consider serious: building something on swamp-land (federally protected wetlands), not paying enough to the IRS or making fun of a sodomist (hate-crime).

Maybe he wanted one of those sex changes or a little plastic surgeries they're providing inmates these days...
Anyway this clown sounds like he's a couple of bricks short of a full load. LOL
when folks do crimes so they CAN be sent to prison then you KNOW that prison has gotten too soft.
do away with the cable TV and ridiculous medical care just to name a couple of bennies and then maybe reality will prevail...
while I'm on the subject, DEPORT THE INCARCERATED ILLEGALS!
this will open up slots for American criminals and cut the cost of prisons dramatically since ONE THIRD ARE ILLEGALS.
of course until they secure the borders this will be fruitless.
