There's no doubt our problems have multiplied as our population has become more diverse (the Civil War occured because a fundamental differece of opinion on a very basic issue was not resolved when the Constitution was written). So far we've managed. One can only hope for the future.
That was my general point. Blackstone's premise, and the premise of Western civ, is that there are immutable forces at some point. Problems ALWAYS multiply with diversity. Not being judegmental, that is just basic fact. Human nature admits adhering to a belief system. Sometimes those belief systems clash. Voila - history.
