Today President Bush attended the last day of the G-8 Meeting and Arrived back at Andrews Air Forse Base in Maryland and immediately went to the British Embassy in Washington D.C. to sign the guest book and offer condolences to the victims of terrorist attacks on London yesterday. The Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the outpouring of sympathy and support by the American people, and he thanks President Bush for the gesture

Hi Dolly... Haven't talked to you since I was a newbie's newbie! I'll always appreciate your very kind welcome! Hope all is well. I visit so many threads that I've discovered that don't cross paths with people as often as I thought I would! I tend to pop in willy-nilly all day .
I agree with you on the British police pic. I think that the President makes friends wherever he goes, and while I enjoy looking at pictures of him and his family, what is really fun is looking at the response of people to him. For instance, look at the slight smile on the face of the soldier in the wreath pictures.
Anyway, those British police sure look like they are having a good time and genuinely like him.

"I have often wondered how nice it could be if arrangements could be made for lets say middle school or high school students to visit WR and other hospitals that are helping our injured recover. Let them interact with these folks. Let them hear the stories, let them hear why these men and women choice to enlist, and defend this land. Let them hear what they don't hear in the L/MSM and elsewhere. Then write reports to share with their classmates on the character of these people they meet." That is an excellent idea, I wish I would have thought of it :-)
My Son-in-Law is a High School History Teacher and a former U.S. Marine... (oops strike "former".. no such thing.) And I will suggest that he takes his students on a field trip to WR or BNH, since he was in the Marine Corps, and his two boys (My Grandsons) were born at Bethesda Naval Hospital, I'm sure he will choose BNH.
Thanks for the great idea, I can't wait to run the idea by him in the AM :-)
Cheers,
Mike

so it they'll do it for free, can i have their pie then ??? :D by the way. the whole time i've been bugging you on this pie, you never told me what kind of pie. so tell me, what kind of pie are we talkin here ??? cherry, apple, blueberry, chocolate, ??????????
To: Marine_Uncle
By the way.... I would not suggest Middle School students to visit WR or BNH, some of the injuries are hideous and might not be good for 12 to 15 years old children to see. My goal would be to impress upon the High School students the amount of selflessness it takes to serve a cause greater than yourself, and I can attest to the attitudes of our injured troops, they would bend over backwards to explain to the students the importance of serving their Nation.
You my friend, have come up with a brainstorm. I will take your suggestion and run with it. If we pull it off, I will go along and take pictures :-) and post them right here for all to see :-)
