Methinks the unions ought to read the writing on the wall. Either get competitive or you go away. It's your choice.

The Peoples Liberation Army Navy recently introduced two domestically designed and built.... Are they an army or a navy?

An army that has a navy ....the PLAAN is part and parcel of the army. Kind of how the US army once upon a time owned the air force/corps.

You need to prove that Clinton allowed Aegis technology out. Sure you can say he did a number of things, but that doesn't make it so. It is clear that his liberal licensing allowed sensitive satellite and space launching technology slip though.
The Russian and the Chinese might have been collaborating on Aegis type systems for more than a decade. You already suggested as much when you mention the Soviet SkyWatch system. If there is anything to blame for their leaps, other than the Russians, it would be the free access to technology provided by the Information Age as well as free trade in dual use technology.
Information isn't bound up anymore like it was only ten year ago, and the barriers keeping stuff truly secret are falling away. Take the 052C, I knew about that for almost two months. Pictures of Chinese weapons you would think are secret seemed to get on the net some how.
My last point on this subject concern the Chinese single minded determination to undo the Cultural Revolution which I understand decimated their scientific know how. For at least two decades they have been graduating an enormous amount of science, engineering, and mathematics PHD and even more undergrads. This combined with the free flow of information in this world, it is no wonder that the Chinese are catching up in some areas.

I have tangled with Kuehn12 a couple of times, and for the life of me i cannot determine whether he is a clintonista, a troll, a Chinese freeper, or just a genuine pacificist who truly (though wrongly) believes holding hands and singing carols will bring global peace and universal harmony (not to mention cause orchids to bloom from salted earth). Either way he is pretty much harmless, and actually cute in a twisted sort of way (there was one post where he claimed that China was not quasi-fascist because, and i quote, 'there are no photographs of soldiers goose-stepping.' Needless to say i soon posted a bunch of photos showing Chinese soldiers doing a quick-step that would make Chairman Mao leap with joy....)
All in all he is harmless .....a tad bit tantamount to a college football team having a wolverine as a mascot ....in essence a gimmick.

Any bets on whether they had help from Chinese immigrants working in our laboratories, factories and shipyards? Any bets on help from Clinton's ilk? I didn't think so, all you Freepers see threats where there are threats.

I know now that it is impossible to have a civil exchange with you sir. Short of me demonizing those that I disagree with would be the only way to prove that I am not a troll. I guess then I must find a comfortable spot under a bridge. God forbid, that someone would rather seek peace than war. Is a crime for which I should be hanged for. My second crime is fairness. That wouldn't be a attribute you possess, and one that I should be eviscerated for in your opinion. I have made my views plain, but you and some other people on this site tend to twist them to fit some warp world view.
I have said we should confront the Chinese and convince them that aggression is never an option. For instance, I suggested that we reinstate the lend lease program for the Taiwanese and I said we should form some kind of NATO like organization in the Pacific. I guess because I didn't call for preemptive nuclear strike, therefore I am a tree hugging, fruit and nut, smoke some weed liberal nut.
I have said that I wouldn't vote for Hillary Clinton for some of the same reason many on this site have enumerated. I have just subtract the venom found in your words. My position with respect of the terrorist is not dissimilar than yours.
But your sir will never look at the totality of my posts, you just choose to resort to a personal attack. Many on this site are so blinded by their hate for the Clintons they can't construct logical argument only attacks. The Clintons are destined for the dust pan of history, and they aren't the source of all evil in the world. They are just the most self serving duel I have ever seen in politics. You notice I didn't call names or invoke stupid imagery to make my point.

Terrible headline.
It is not an Aegis destroyer, simply because it has an Aegis-like radar system.
Aegis-like could mean many things...it could mean they have a comparable yet inferior system or it could mean that they simply made a system that operates like the Aegis system - but it could be relative junk.
To: rbmillerjr
Yep, I agree that the headline is not technically accurate. Even if it was 100% Aegis capable it could still not be called Aegis ....just as sparkling wine is never Champagne unless it the grapes come from the Champagne region. However I think the mods require the header to be as it is in the original source, hence that is why it is as it is.

The ChiComs understand that it is the US NAVY that projects American power into the Pacific and South East Asia.
They plan to fight us and win.
They are serious about going to WAR with us.
They are serious about winning.
The outcome is not certain.
It is certain our children will have to deal with the ChiComs, unless we take care of business.

If you like I will help you get started.
Look up, Johnny Chung
To: spetznaz
Yeah, I checked the author out and his quick bio leads me to believe he well versed in what he is talking about.
I guess, the catchy headline makes it easy to sell as an author. Nonetheless, thanks for the read, it is informative and in an area I like to keep up on.
To: Steve Van Doorn
If the Clinton's are guilty of sending Aegis technology to the Chinese than they are guilty of treason. We all must talk to our congressmen and have them start an investigation because giving this kind of technology rise to the level of the Rosenbergs.
I will check out Johnny Chung to see if this leads to this level of treasonous behavior of which the Clintons are accused of.

And Clinton's cash is being wired to him in Hong Dollars today Did Clinton sell them the Russian phased array radar system or the Russian VLS missile system? Did Clinton sell them the Italian ASW torpedos or the French 100mm gun or the French sonar? Did Clinton sell the Chinese the Dutch Goalkeeper CIWS? Or the French datalink? Maybe people need to get their heads out of the butts and stop blaming everything on Clinton. Our 'friends' are doing a hell of a lot more damage.

"they aren't the source of all evil in the world."
No, I think that title was first held by Jimmy Carter.
If Iran never fell because of Carters ineptness Russia would never have invaded Afghanistan, and would never have been Iran Iraq war, would never have been what we have today.
