Work in London. Commute from the home counties into Euston station.
I heard a snippet from Nick Cohen (Observer columnist - one of the Brit lefty pro-war folks c/f Hitchens) about about a year ago to the effect that one of his sources in the Security Service had told him that AQ had been phoning through false alarms to London stations and then observing the evacuation to maximise casualities. A day or two before reading this I had experienced a bomb scare at Euston and just knew that my station was the one targetted.
Anyway what happens today is that there are bombs on the tube at about ten to nine. By the time the peak time trains come into Euston the tube station is closed/evacuated and so everyone piles onto the buses. Kaboom!
I got an early train this morning and so missed the fun.
I know that we are not allowed to swear on FR and I never do, but will the mods permit me to say "those fuckers"?
I don't blame you for saying that. God bless you all and keep you.
That's more than a little interesting. I wonder if we're having the same "threats" in the US.
The first word was "Them".
Such a quote would indeed be appropriate at this time; although not allowed by the Mods. Stay safe over there.
I've resisted the urge to say just that. That's a load off of my chest.
But hey...I wonder what was served for breakfast in Gitmo this morning?

This is what concerns me about seeing emergency drills or, for example, the evacuation of the Capitol, which get shown on TV on a regular basis. Too much info helpful to the terrorists, I think.
