And re: location, the weather in Tampa Bay was unique yesterday and there was no general pattern throughout Tampa Bay. Sometimes, Tampa is the same as Pinellas. Yesterday, it was definitely not the same. The storm travelled up the west coast, not Tampa Bay. I used to work in Tampa and it's usually hotter or colder in Tampa.

But, the worst lightning strikes imo are in Pinellas. I almost got struck last year at the post office. I'm sure some of my detractors are saying "darn" that I'm still here. Lightning strikes are worse imo, especially when the sun is out and there's no sign of stormy weather. People get blown out of their tennis shoes here. Ask your relative about that.

When we lived in Homestead, I considered us all to be human electrodes. It doesn't take much in such flat area to be the ideal connection between the ground and sky. I remember a cop in a wet parking lot, all by himself stepping out of his car and getting zotted. No way would I be out on a beach or in the water when thunderheads loomed.

Who wants to be a human spark plug?
