I do not understand why people work themselves into a frenzy over things like this. Time enough to rant if the President does something stupid. I don't expect it. I think the nominee will be acceptable, and Gonzalez was never going to be a candidate.
I think you've been on FR long enough to realize that the standard operating procedure for a good number of people is to b*tch, whine, and attack the President on every issue including on things he hasn't even done.

Anyway, I think the GOP is asking people to cool it because they don't want the fight to be any harder than it is already. They don't want to have the words of their own constituency coming back to haunt them when the president nominates someone else.
IOW..."we're trying to distract them, will you all up!" That is what I think they are asking. Don't screw up the stategery for crying out loud.
