One becomes a Freemason or Mason by asking a Mason for membership information. No Mason will ever or can ever solicit membership because of their code and tradition. One must want to be one in order to be one. Oftentimes, around the Christmas holidays your local Masonic Temple will have an open house where many of the private ceremonies are made public except those deemed secret. It is very spiritual, fraternal, honorable, and for those so inclined, irresistible.

I've always had a lingering fascination with the Freemasons.

I've never really looked into it but I've always been drawn to it. (as on this thread)
