Why specifically should women change? I wouldn't say men should change, its just not nice.

I hear you, but I do think that if men and women are unsatisfied with where they are in their lives (and a lot of men and women are dissatisfied), it's incumbent on them to do some self reflection, evaluation, and make changes. At least one definition of 'insanity' is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. By that standard, by their conduct and a lack of a willingness to make adjustments, millions of men and women are insane. ;-)

I have been a stay at home Mom and I have worked when my children were older. I believe in equality and thats it...the rest is a human condition we all suffer from time to time. Biologically we are different but in spirit we all have the same feelings.

I basically agree but men and women do look at things through different prisms. We have the same feelings, sure, but they are filtered through our personalities and minds differently, and some meaningful generalizations can be made based on sex.

No argument from me. There is a posse of angry freeper men out there who come out from time to time. Negative about relationships, they are down on relationships, romance, marriage. They get exactly what they expect - bad relationships. The brothel issue came up in a very limited context - we were talking about women's unwillingness to give oral sex to their mates. That's a commentary really on the idea, which I think is valid (and I don't think I'm an angry man at all), that there is a cultural consensus that woman's needs, desires, and whims somehow have an inherent greater value than men's needs, desires and whims. That's bogus - each side has to meet the other at least 1/2 way.

Shelf life isn't something I mentioned, sorry.

I read that you only claim to date much younger women...why is that? Don't think younger women aren't aware of your shelf life, whether they say so or not!

Truthfully I can't say I have cared much about what they consider my shelf life to be. I date younger women (though not ridiculously younger women) mostly because I enjoy their company much better. The ones I choose tend to have fresher outlooks and better vitality than their counterparts 10 and 15 years older than them. Also less baggage, which is very important to me, as I am uninterested in undue dealing with some crap another guy left in a woman's mind. Sorry, I won't do it - given the choice (and us men do have the choice), it's a lot easier and more fulfilling to deal with women with less emotional hangups, and as a general principle (though not 100% valid), younger women have fewer years on earth and therefore fewer years for rough emotional baggage to take hold.

Like I said, it's about expanded choices that women have gained in the last 30 years, but also about the expanded choices us men have. The truth is, I'd rather deal with a smart, good, tough, ballbusting woman of 25 rather than a good, smart, tough, ballbusting woman of 35 or 40. I really can't see how, all else being comparable, anybody in their right mind would choose otherwise.

I am 40...if something happened and I am suddenly single and most men thought like you I'd be looking at being lonely forever...is this supposed to make me feel better? Is this a reason to back off from wanting equal pay, etc.? au contrere! I damn well better fight for my rights ! B/c of my age I doubt I'll ever find another man...woe is me...(NOT!!!)
