He want to the matt to oppose Ted Olsen on the University of Michigan college admissions case. Olsen urged the justice department to come out against quotas and supporte admission on the basis of merit but Gonzales zealously led the charge in favor of a "diversity" standard! As a result, because of Gonzales and Gonzales alone, the DOJ supported admitted students on the basis of biological "diversity." That makes him a liberal in my book.
