Russia would be naive to take China over America. China is a clearly imperialistic communist nation and it is adjoined to Russia. It is an immeadiate threat. America is an ocean away at it's closest. The partnership which is logical is the capitalist ally who if turned enemy is till well beyond arms length. China is a nuclear armed vicious rival. Plus Russians historically hate the chinese.

In my estimation...China will lull the Russians into working with them, the Russians thinking they can work both ends against the middle...right up until the time the Chinese pull a Barbarosa II on them and take Siberia.
That is a part of the scenario in The Dragon's Fury Series of Novels.
