Well, according to the letter of the agreement, Brown is safe from the filibuster. The Dems will try to argue otherwise, but that can be explained in quick soundbytes to the public.

You know, I read on FR that Fox News survives exclusively off of its ads (and probably some infusion of cash from the parent company), but every cable subscriber pays approximately $3 every month to CNN and will do so until 2009, based on the last deal they signed with the cable companies.

Rush is hinting that everyone saw this coming (O'Connor retiring) and the strategy was set weeks ago.
And yet... (hee hee hee) Dianne Feinstein on Ronn Owens' KGO show (where he fielded a few DU Tin Foil calls) said tat it was a total shock to them, that the O'Connors had just bought/retained an apartment in Washington, D.C, and that she thinks (ha) that this took the President by surprise and (in response to Owens' question) that W probably doesn't have a replacement set in his mind.
Run that through the Dem filter, and read that 180 degrees from what she said.
