I love the guy too but would rather see Brown get the nomination. Love to see the liberal go after her.

I like Ted Olsen too. But I have been reading quite a lot lately that his Solicitor General's office had prepared an Amicus (friend of the court) Brief in favor of the recent City of New London eminent domain takings case. It was never filed with the courts only because the Administration thought it would be unpopular politically.

Also, I believe that Judges are required to recuse themselves from any case where they have ever served as a legal adviser to the government. Having been Solicitor General for five years and through a contentious period, Olson has given a lot of advice on a lot of issues that are near and dear to us so he would be recusing himself from the very cases where we would need him the most. (The same might be true for Gonzalez but in my opinion we would be glad that he recessed himself because he leans liberal). With either Olsen or Gonzalez we would only get half a justice.

I agree Ted for CJ and Garza to replace O'connor. There is no way that Renquist can handle one more term,he has done enough and sacrificed enough for America.

I do too but those in the know say he is too old. They want someone in their fifties so the candidate can be on the court for 30 years.
