"ignorant" is not a name, it is a state. "stupid" is a name. "ignorant" means that, in his opinion, the poster lacks the information to make an informed comment.

This can be ascertained by reading posts for their content, and judging the opinions based on known facts.

The response to being called "ignorant" is to provide the evidence you use for your opinion. Then the person who called you "ignorant" will see that you are not willfully ignorant, and may provide the additional information you need to make a more informed decision.

I have certainly heard many, usually on the left, use it as an insult, an adjective, not a noun.

I really did not mean to beat this into the ground but there is no question that prolifeconservative used the phrase not as a friendly directive to become more informed but to intimidate Cajungirl and to appear superior.
