His derringer was in his belt buckle.

I had a toy one, belt buckle derringer, like it when I was a kid. I had a huge selection of TV cowboy show guns. Damn I wish I still had all that stuff, it'd be worth a fortune in memories and $$$.

Amazing what you can find on the internet, here is what it looked like. Of course these are in pretty bad shape.
