Now I suppose you're going to ask who was Bat Masterson...

Back when the west was very young,
There lived a man named Masterson.
He wore a cane and derby hat,
They called him Bat, Bat Masterson.

The trail that he blazed is still there.
No one has come since, to replace his name.
And those with too ready a trigger,
Forgot to figure on his marching home.

Now in the legend of the west,
One name stands out of all the rest.
The man who had the fastest gun,
His name was Bat, Bat Masterson.

Also, the real Bat was a deputy to Wyatt Earp in Dodge City. He was later a sportswriter and boxing promoter and was good friends with Theodore Roosevelt.

Note he wears his holster front ways which is the way Masterson wore his gun I believe. He also carried a derringer.

I remember they used to sell a Bat Masterson cap gun set. I had the Roy Rogers version.

Remember that show the "Name of the Game"? Barry was in a neat episode about the future when everybody lived underground due to the air pollution. Then he woke up and it was a dream or something. Maybe it was a car wreck and he came to after being knocked out. Not sure.
