As I stated, I will read this book during the summer. A couple days ago I started Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen. I have listened to him a few times on the tube. He comes on right after Fox News Sunday, at 1000. What I like about him is he does not beg and badger for money. He also seems sincere. Osteen also seems to echo C.S. Lewis - basically stating that even if you do not feel it now, start talking to God and giving Him favor, and God will in turn give you favor.

Osteen annoys me when he talks about being a "champion". It sounds way too contrived. His incessant blinking reminds me of a hypnotist we had on TV in Winston-Salem. He did the same thing. Rolling the head from right to left and blinking a lot. Otherwise, I think Osteen is pretty good. He knows the power of humor in a sermon.
