PRESTO, Pa. (AP) -- Philadelphia Flyers center Jeremy Roenick has some advice for hockey fans who blame the NHL lockout on players' greed: Once it's finally settled, stay home.
``We're going to try to make it better for everybody, period, end of subject. And if you don't realize that, then don't come,'' said Roenick, who spoke at a charity golf event he played in over the weekend.
``We don't want you at the rink, we don't want you in the stadium, we don't want you to watch hockey,'' he said Saturday at the Mario Lemieux Celebrity Invitational in suburban Pittsburgh.

I don't know if it'll be nationally televised, but if it's in Columbus, it will be well-attended. Columbus has better attendance than some Original Six teams. Expansion is not the problem. Do your homework before you spout off.
The NHL's troubles can be traced directly to the owners, from offering contracts they can't afford to hiring a basketball lackey to run the league. Bill Wirtz is their posetr boy in Chicago, where "fans" openly hate their own team. Player egos are just fuel for the already-blazing fire of idiocy that is NHL ownership.
Hey Roenick! Better put some ice on that attitude.
I heard Jeremy get interviewed by Howard Eskin for half an hour yesterday afternoon on the radio about this "quote". This story is basically a media "scoop" where Jeremy was asked a question following a few beers with the boys at a golf outing and Jeremy gave a passionate, long-winded answer to a question about the strike. The local sports-talk media took a soundbite from that answer and used it out of context. Surprise. surprise. They do it all the time around here. It's why I have always admired the Steve Carlton approach.
The wages paid to the players in all sports and every other form of entertainment, would be an insult to the intelligence of the fans, if the fans had any intelligence to insult.

Well, thanks to your greed, that is exactly what EVERYONE did... way to go imbicile.
Clicked any EULAs lately? ;^)

"Hockey" used to be
a sport fast lane glamour girls
pretended to like.
Hockey is a game played in February between Boston College, Boston University, Harvard and Northeastern for a Beanpot.
That's not JR, that's Brett Hull.
Awwww jeeeze... It's just not funny if you have to explain it.
OK, for the record, we get it. You don't like hockey; you think it's stupid, you think it's practitioners are stupid, you think it's fans are stupid. OK? We got it. Now please, offer your witty repartee on a different thread where it might actually appear witty.
I was already feeling a little peeved about all of the charming comments that appear on every hockey thread.
That's one for the ages. Actually, even though I'm a big NFL fan, I wouldn't mind if all pro sports went this way. It's turned into too much of a religion for too many people.
Needless to say, they really don't like each other.
The guy is a public relations genius. What a puck brain. Hope the whole league goes down the tubes and these guys can get a job at the local convenience store.
Okay Jeremy. Your wish is my command.
Oh I'm sorry, I thought hockey was a game played by girls in skirts.
Once upon a time, it was the name of a popular sport, now it's just a word that is only seen following the word "horse".
