Muslims are obvious clients of America's Cold War covert effort against the Soviets (example: Iran-Contra - Saudi Money - Sultan of Brunei money).

The Soviets backed clients who were secular Arabs/Muslims like the PLO which was made up of nationalists who were secular Muslims/Christains and socialist atheist Arabs.
