Among the closest associates of Khomeini, there were many Communists who had conveniently grown beards. Mustafa Ali Chamran had studied in California and Egypt before he founded a Red Shiite secret society. His pupils included later foreign minister Ibrahim Yazdi, oil minister Mohammed Gharazi, and a Lebanese fellow student in Berkeley University, Hussein Shaikh al-Islam, who led the occupation of the US Embassy in Tehran. This occupation, shortly before the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, focused Iranian radicalism into anti-Americanism. (Taheri, p. 78 and 139-140) Mohammed Beheshti, whose death at a bombing on June 28th, 1981, remained a mystery, had resided in East Germany. Khomeinis early companion and foreign minister, Sadegh Ghotbzadeh, was a link to Syria. Most left-wing radicals were repressed only after summer 1981, by which time many former Communists had successfully accommodated with the new regime. Both Ghotbzadeh and Chamran had received Palestinian terrorist training. As a student in the USA, Ghotbzadeh had been recruited by the GRU. (Livingston & Halevy, p. 153-154; Kuzichkin, p. 302)

Spoken like a true liberation theologist.
Did you know, Gary, when you signed on with your sect, that liberation theology is a creation of the KGB? I bet you had no idea.
Liberation theology? The Christians in the Churches of Christ and independent Christian Churches would laugh at that. I'm considered an Evangelical, and confess Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully man. That is as orthodox a confession as one can make. BTW, I have contributed work on two major Bible Translations, the NASB 1995 Update and the ESV.
Oh, and Nyquist is a Christian. Sorry you think otherwise.
Nyquist is a premillenialist, which interprets the Anointed One in Daniel 9:20-27 as the Antichrist. That prophecy concerns Christ, and He is the Anointed One. One has to make a choice in interpreting this passage, Christ or Antichrist. He has chosen Antichrist. I am not saying Nyquist is not a Christian, but his belief system has a major problem in how he sees Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ will judge Nyquist's heart.

Nyquist clearly is a premillenialist. That was not hard to find on the Internet.
I am hardly a pacifist, but neither do I wish war and death on others. We are very different.

To: BringBackMyHUAC By the way, as such a "lover" of Russians and such an "export" on Russian politics, which party exactly there do you support? I would guess the party of Basayev and Khodorkovsky.

Mogilevich, who was born in 1946 in the city of Kiev, is said to be a citizen of Russia, Ukraine, Israel and Hungary. What it has had to do with Russia?

"If nothing else, you're definitly single minded, actually obsessed with one agenda: spread hatred towards Russians, as your one subject posting: TapTheSource, proves it."
I agree.
Russians are Europeans and our brothers.
Clearly the poster is not of European descent, ergo he hates Russians.
Either that, or he/she's too young too know better.

I take it from that that given the choice of killing, say, Robert Mugabe and leaving him in power, you'd opt to let the genocidal maniac live. Would you like to kill Mugabe? What it has to do with Russia or Islamic terrorism?

I definitely do not have a Liberation theology belief system. Shancken seems to have a chip on his shoulder.

The KGB routinely infiltrated and created false dissident groups, peace groups, religious groups, anti-nuke groups, and on. They even created Nazi groups in Germany. Interesting. So what is your opinion about origin of KGB/Commies, were they created by someone else or do they exist on their own?
