Don't get me wrong, I'm not dogmatically stating that the EU or WEU will be the Beast described in Revelation. Nobody knows this for sure. I'm just pointing out some interesting paralells I see.
THE BEAST = This beast came out of the sea, had ten horns, seven heads, ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name (Revelation 13:1).
The seven heads are "seven hills on which the woman sits.
Rome has always been known as the city on seven hills.
Jerusalem has had this title as well.
One could also point out that Rome has more than seven.
Since Italy was part of the allied powers in WWI, might that have satisfied scripture?
Richmond, Virginia, is also known as "the city of seven hills."
