Maybe Blair figured out that our Dems are not social liberals, but terrorist cuddling anti-innocent people bunch, and he wants no part of them.
Blair is VERY LIBERAL.
Or he might have developed a different political philosophy than his parents.

I see very little difference between the Democrats and the British Labour Party. Where there are differences the Labour Party are further left (and that's at leadership level, the Party also still encompasses many who are well to the left of that).
