I think Joran keeps lying about how he got home because HIS FATHER picked him up and took him home. It must have been after he got home that they decided they HAD to get a cover story together.
But how did Joran contact his father to come get him?

But how did Joran contact his father to come get him?Good question. If something "bad happened to Natalee early on", the boys may have panicked and run to PVDS for help. The rest of text messages/calls may have been part of coverup plan B. As far as I know, no one can vouch for PVDS's whereabouts during this timeframe. AVDS was not home from her trip yet. Just one more scenario.
