I do believe the emails from Deepak are real (as in they were written by Deepak) - it sounds to me that Joran also told Deepak about the gambling money story that Natalee "may" have lost. The gambling money story is probably another lie that Joran and his father cooked up and then passed on to the Deepak and Satish. (because Deepak and Satish were not at the Holiday Inn casino with Joran, Natalee or Paulus).

When you rewatch Greta later, will you please listen to the part about WHO is resigning and leaving his post on July 15th? I understood the man speaking to say it is Van der Straaten, the Police Chief. Someone else heard it as being PVDS. Greta asked if the resignation had anything to do with this case, and the guy said "yes."
