brigette--your recaps of the timeline and accompanying events on this thread are excellent. It helps us to get a hold of the sequence of events and who did what. (Theoretically).
How thorough was the search of the Van der Sloot property? I'm thinking of that guy in Oregon who killed his two 13 year old neighbors a couple of months apart. Both bodies were hidden right on his property, which police searched several times without finding them.
Also, did they search the property of VDS neighbor who ia "away"? The ones with the monkey? These internationalists spend time "away"--back in Holland or wherever--for three or six or nine months at a clip. Perhaps Joran and the father took advantage of the neighbors' absence to hide a body somewhere on their property--even though it is mighty close to home.
My understanding is that just drug sniffing dogs were used during the "raid" of the VDS property. Cadaver dogs have not been used yet. Not sure they have checked the neighbors house or property yet. If was me I would have cadaver dogs as close to the VDS property as possible and would be fighting to get them on the VDS property.
