No, they didn't "specifically" name the security guards. The authorities fingered them.

I'm pretending that Joran told his buddies to lie for him BECAUSE even the act of deserting her on the beach could have contributed to her abduction. Joran, was after all the responsible party.

I can think of a few reasons why he could have walked away from her, reasons that he wouldn't tell anyone about.

So when he changed his story and told the truth...no one believed him.

Far fetched? Sure it is..but not impossible.
