Geraldo is repeating what Rudy Croes (Aruba Justice Minister) told him. (word for word on a rewind from my TIVO system)
(Geraldo speaking) Rudy Croes also asked me to stress that the father (JVDS) is not a judge, he is a FAILED judge. He applied to the authorities in the mother country of the Netherlands in Holland to become a judge, he was TURNED DOWN, so just ironically a week before before Natalee disappeared on the 29th/30th of May, just a week before that Paulus had been to see Rudy Croes asking for a job and they were trying to figure out what the father could do for a living now that the father has been TURNED DOWN to be a judge.
Turned down may mean REJECTED to most of you, but the wording was Turned Down. The failed part is more interesting to me, because he failed and that is why he was turned down for a "judge" position.
