Been reading it but not posting with those "downers"!!
It is getting damned stange.
Boo-friggin-Hoo. The only cryin' towel I have is for the Holloway's & Twitty's and the many other friends & family members who just want to get Natalee back.
I DON'T GIVE A HOOT ABOUT JORAN VAN DER SLOOT!
i am so tired of people complaining about news stories. GOOD GRIEF, we don't get to pick the news or how it is covered, people need to just DEAL and turn off Fox if they aren't interested and pass these threads by, bc there are plenty of us who ARE totally gripped with this story.
I don't believe the Kalpoes were there if and when she died, but thought perhaps J called them up and demanded they help him get a boat, pressuring them with threats that they'd get arrested as accessories. Deepak knew the DJ, but that might be coincidence. Still rumor has it DJ has admitted someone wanted him to dump something at sea.
But Joran seems to have done as he pleased, staying out, gambling, drinking, maybe drugs, and his father didn't stop him, so Joran would have few fears about getting his father's help. This would make it plausible that he'd race home and involve his dad, whose livelihood and status on the island would plummet if this came out. Real fears for PVDS.
That Anita Van Der Sloot is getting on my last nerve.
Wish someone would stifle her!
I wonder why the brothers were the only ones wearing the tag? Were they the leaders of 'Da Gang'?

I think they are saying the fathers involved in some way in the cover up. I read somewhere that the authorities down there checked the dads banking records and found he went to the ATM the night the girl disappeared 3 times at 300 am. and 3.45 am in the morning. Seems strange to need cash that late, but then again it's a party town. But I thought the mom said her husband was sound asleep? Who knows?

Hey, "vannersloot," git yoor but in here...it's dinner time.
Our scenario makes TONS of sense & likelihood.
But need to find the body. Yeah, I have to concede, at this point, they are looking for her body.
She can't stop talking.........she's got to be hysterical. I do feel for her, but her family and friends have got to convince her to stop talking. For her own sake.
I don't think the Kalpoes were on the beach with Joran and Natalee either. Joran is a big greedy lustful lout, and I just cannot picture him sharing any of his conquests with the Kalpoe boys, whom Anita VDS was careful to point out...are not REALLY Joran's best friends...more on the outer fringes. She is a nasty piece of work.
The ATM angle is very interesting, especially if they had to pay off the DJ for the boat trip. I thought J's mother came home after N was reported missing, like the next day. I didn't think she was in the house that night.
So dad might have been out and about that night too. Do these people go to school or work in Aruba??? Good grief!!

Oops, if he wasn't at the Casino losing big-time, he better have a good explanation for what could be "pay off money"..tsk, tsk.

I think it much more likely that daddy helped Joran after he messed up by hurting or killing Natalee. The boat DJ was most likely involved with the cover-up as well. One thing is for sure, one of them will crack and tell what happened.
What kind of a lawyer do the Van der Sloots have, to let them get themselves in deeper and deeper with all these media interviews?
The father should have taken his own advice..."Say nothing, say othing".
And the mother, too.
I don't have much pity for her. She has reaped what she sowed.
I pray Natalees Mother isn't reading this forum..

I'm happy to see her going in the direction that maybe the boys didn't kill Natalee because
(1) that gives me hope Natalee might still be alive
and (2) it's dreadful to think such seemingly nice young boys might have done such a terrible thing -- though I know Robert Chambers did.
(Though Robert Chambers might not have been quite what we thought he was. After posting his picture here next to Joran's, I did a little research on him. Linda Fairstein, the prosecutor who convicted him, complained that the media portrayed him falsely: He wasn't really the nice boy scholar type, but had already dropped out of school, was taking hard drugs and running with a tough crowd before he murdered Jennifer Levin.)
So Greta's my weathervane. If she starts pointing toward the boys my heart's going to sink. Prayers for Natalee and her parents.
