I think Van Der Slug is more fitting. Slimy, lives under rocks, comes out at night, makes a mess of everything.
First of all, some of the people 'missing' from cruise ships have been men. One of the women was lost on a Mexican Riveiera cruise, not in the Caribbean.
Second, in every case that I am aware of, the person who was later found to be missing was on the ship when it left port, so they apparently went over the side for hateer reason. Murder or suicide or by accident.
The Mother wasn't sweating.
She appeared to be much more upset that her son was in jail than van der Sweat to me.
Like J.C. Watts said "Character is doing the right thing when no-one is watching".
A majority of these celebrity politicians, etc., are always being watched. As a result, with no character, no honor and being not very bright...they are doomed.

HUH?
PS
Not flaming you, just stating what I saw. :)
I'm going with the instincts of Natalee's mother. She thinks the elder VDS knows more than he's told.
Too bloody right!
So many of them keep saying that, but! can't seem to produce her.
{Like J.C. Watts said "Character is doing the right thing when no-one is watching". }
That is an outstanding quote!
Deejay wrote: "There's been about 5 people missing off cruise ships in the past yr. or so.
I think we have a trend going... None have been found,
to my knowledge."

I don't see any mention of "Sex Slaves" - Some passengers may have wanted to disappear.....dramatically. Cruise ships have all the trappings of "Love Boat" and "Titanic" to the fragile psyches of romantics and drama queens.

Bashing cruise lines?
Wasn't aware "I" was doing that.
Certainly wasn't my intention.
Thought I was stating what's
reported in the news.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Gingersnaps, if I disagree with you please? do not turn into a werewolf and seek me out. There are some people who have the qualifications as to kinesis and conducting criminal investigations, to be possibly very accurate in their speculations/comments.
You have made a good point and I do respect it. NSNR
You're right, time was definitely a factor and unless 'he' had access to a boat, 'he' dumped her somewhere on the island, and it's difficult to believe that 'he' acted alone.
That message board is correct. Without a shovel, digging a 10' grave in wet sand by hand, would be difficult, but not impossible.
We both know the general discussion has been about 'all the women missing in the Caribbean' . Your post is in that vein and on a discussion thread of Americans 'disappearing'. If your intent was not to draw some sort of parallel, what was it?
Satire as to the name of the cruise lines. Possibly fits as to monitoring the well being and safety of the passengers. NSNR
And not one media person has asked them "where might she be and have you looked there?"
This is beyond horrid. Natalee's dear mother is trying so hard to hold herself together, but she looked terribly pained and tired last night on Greta's. We have to keep praying for her. I just know I couldn't be so brave in her shoes.
I would think that would noticeably affect one's hands.
