Robert Byrd's former compatriot was found guilty of manslaughter....
Why the sympathy for the Klan murderer? Sick!
Why the sympathy for the Klan murderer? Sick!
Nope...just fair trials for ALL.
As if past trials were fair in the least the other way.
Get lost, racist.
Exactly. I have no sympathy for OJ and I have no sympathy for Killen. The only disappointment is that only one of the two got convicted.
What are you talking about?
2 wrongs making a right?
I was hearing last night that the jury was hopelessly deadlocked at 6-6. Now, the next morning, they have a conviction? Look, I don't care if the guy is guilty or not - something really smells about this. Why have a jury at all if the judge is going to determine the outcome?
well, if he did then he deserved to get convicted. perhasp i'm cynical but i keep wondering why this has to happen now.
Hopelessly deadlocked on the murder charge. Obviously those voting to acquit on murder were okay with the manslaughter charge and in the end, the jury went with manslaughter.
Byrd says the KKK thought he had promise and encouraged him to run for office. He thinks that was a good thing. Besides his membership in the KKK was for only one measly year and was the result of youthful foolishness.
The wrong in the past is directly responsible for this situation - where bogus trials let this creep and others like him walk free. Had there been an honest trial back then, his defense attorney would have had ample opportunity to cross-examine witnesses, because they would have still been alive and had fresh memories. The reason the trial happened now is because Killen relied on a rigged trial back then to get off.
He has reaped what he has sown.
Their mission.
Do you think it's just idle chatter when we condemn Byrd.
They had only one purpose. Terrorize, murder and destroy black people because they were black.
If it was your son,daughter??????????
Okay. Thanks for clearing that up. Dude's 80-something years old anyway. Reminds me of the old saying about "justice delayed is justice denied".
His trial 40 years ago was hung because a single juror refused to find a Reverend guilty, period. The other 11 voted for guilty.
This verdict does not displease me in the slightest.
uh nope. never said that either.
Yeah, the bogus legal proceedings in the past. Their stench lingers across the decades.
The KKK also terrorized and assassinated Republican candidates and organizers, Jews, and Catholics.
