I'm not interested in what the Arubans think of US, frankly.
She is a mother, searching for her child or answers to what happened to her child. People are not being forthcoming -- she has every right to go door to door in that country if she wants to.
I spent ONE DAY waiting to find out why my son died -- I can tell you it's hell on earth. I can't understand why she isn't mad as a hatter.
And, frankly, your criticism of her is out of line.
LOL!
A squawking computer drives me nuts, too. I never could get it to work. I sit on the mute button a lot though, so I didn't put a whole lot of effort into it.
PS I find it very interesting that no one else in this thread mentioned this incident, but just glossed right on over it.
So did I. You'd think there would have been some serious speculation about why she cancelled at the last minute. Maybe something to do with the additional arrests? But, really, I can't think of anything outside of finding Natalee or having a heart attack that could rationally explain the cancellation.
BTW--I don't watch television.
I don't know how she is able to keep going, doing what she is doing, but now is the time for her to back off just a bit, I think, in hopes of salvaging some good will from the Arubans...
the Arubans hold all the cards in this....its going to be their cops and their judge and their media that brings this thing to a close.....
I have not followed this thread so I don't know if anyone has proposed this or not. I believe that Natalie is in Columbia. They haven't found a body and that island is not that big. It appears they have turned over every rock on the island. One of the guys arrested is connected with a boat. Boat=drugs=white slavery=Columbia. Just my SWAG.
Squawking computers are not nearly as annoying as a car that talks... "please secure your seat belt." I asked my childhood friend, "why did you buy this?" LOL.
Thanks - that's the word I was looking for - AWE!
I'm trying to learn from her BUT I don't think I could measure up if I was in her shoes. I know me.
I'm sorry about your child - NOTHING is more devestating than that to a parent. And for others who haven't experienced it, we never know what tomorrow brings.
Mother's fight for their children when they are in harms way, in everyone's face, be demanding, determined, question, etc., She is doing her job that comes from the fire in her belly. May she NEVER care what others think, moreso, the Arubans. Sit back and watch? This is her life, not a soap opera.
You cannot be for real.. . your comments about Natalee's mom are so over the edge...into the land of halucination!
You have no idea what it's like down there...This mom is one brave and heroic woman trying to find her child who has disappeared off the face of the earth...or at least get answers to what happened to her from the SOB snob punks that were with her last.
eleni, I agree with you 100% about the Van der Sloots and their apparently successful public relations ploy in the interview with Greta.
They were carefully advised and coached, no doubt, by their attorneys to invite Greta back for an in-depth look.
What a set-up. Iced drinks for all at their dining room table. A convenient rng of the telephone calling Paulus away from the interview at a crucial moment. The tacky Christmas angel set up with Natalee's prayer card.
Greta said that Beth Holloway was advised by her attorneys NOT to return to the Van der Sloots with Greta. Wise advice.
Anita VDS turned on her crocodile tears and her "My boy is a good boy" speech, right on cue. The mope of a father was sweating bullets, I noticed, as Greta talked about the first night they had an encounter with the Holloway-Twittys.
That would be the night that Joran was in yet another casino--The Wyndham--on yet another school night, no doubt once again bombed out of his skull--as shown in that lovely picture of him passed out on the colorful comforter.
Remember that Anita Van der Sloot has a lot at stake here--her position in the wealthy ex-pat community; her job at ISA; her reputation as a "spiritual person and advisor" etc.
Well, she may have fooled a lot of people on this thread, but she didn't fool me with her cheap dramatics and her CYA by any and all means.
Could she be hospitalized somewhere or under medical care if she'd had a reaction to a drug? But looks like someone would have come forward if that were the case.
More from Greta's show...
The whole group is still at the Holiday Inn...
Joran father is still being obnoxious... Joran's father steps in and says "This is not america - you have no manners - you have no manners. The night manager tells Daddy VDS to stand outside. So he does and then Daddy VDS starts staring down Beth (Natalee's Mother - Jug's wife) who was sitting in a car outside. (Remember they are all at the Holiday Inn)
Jug said there was more talking after that. Only 2 of the 3 boys were there. (Joran was one but it does not say which one of the brothers were there - I am thinking Deepak) - Police reports were taken and Jug says that his group went up and to bed (I assume the police requested they do this)
Jug now says (after being asked by Greta) which brother was it. He thinks it was Deepak. Deepak was as bad as Joran's father telling Joran not to say anything - that he does not have to talk etc...
I'm trying to learn from her, too. In fact, I was thinking about this just a while ago; they are remarkable people.
Anyone who has lost a child knows that it's hard just to get out of bed some days, so her fortitude is absolutely stunning to watch.
Perhaps some here would prefer that she take to her bed and completely fall apart. Go figure.
Ridiculous. Absolutely.
And you did criticize her.
Thanks for the well thought out post CitizenM.. :)
How likely would it be that the brothers could have asked VDS father for help-not Joran? I thought Mr.Twitty said Joran wanted to help them, etc.
It makes a little sound every time somebody replies to one of your posts or sends you Freepmail. :-)
