The fact is that the antis will never support a new law that allows for the same number of immigrant laborers. What they have always really wanted is 9 million Mexican laborers kicked out and none allowed to return.

The majority of Americans seem to understand this simple fact but apparently you don't.

Its the fact that they came here illegally, consciously disregarding and showing no respect for our laws. Granting them amnesty will not change that anymore than a pardon erases a crime. The problem is the Bush "guest worker" plan is being sold as just that, a guest worker plan in which people come in for 3-6 years and then leave. That would be fine but we all know that it would turn into a permanent residency and citizenship machine.
