"""Also, they mention that Terri's brain weighted 625 g, about half of that of a normal brain."""
Einstein's brain was about three quarters the size of that of a normal brain.
It didn't seem to slow him down any.

Einstein's brain was about three quarters the size of that of a normal brain.
It didn't seem to slow him down any.
First of all, Einstein's brain weighed 1,230 grams, which is less than the average adult male brain (about 1,400 grams), but well within the normal range of brain sizes for men (and 88% of the size of the average brain). In addition, he had more densely packed neurons than the average man, so this more than compensated for the small weight difference.
Schiavo's brain, which weighed 625 gm, was less than half the average weight of a normal female brain (1300 gm). However, much of the cortical brain tissue she had left was not neurons, but astrocytes--brain "scar" tissue. In other words, non-functional tissue.

Easy there. Einstein's brain weighed 1230 grams. 1300 grams falls into the range of a normal brain. Therefore Einstein's brain was 90- to 95% of normal not three quarters or 75% of normal.
