Actually, Hildy, he did use vast amounts of the trust for his personal reasons, in hiring and paying Felos with Greer's blessing. You can dissemble the use as 'for Terri', but she had no say and when an appointed guardian disagreed with Greer's rulings, that guardian was removed and Greer appointed himself for a stint at guardian.

than you pro-MS guys

Being pro-"the rule of law" and pro-"limited government" does not make me "pro-MS".

What about Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, Peggy Noonan, Jeb Bush, Pres. Bush, Tom DeLay? Are they unreliable too?

They can be wrong. Or do you think they are infallible?

Are you being tacky or do you always treat posters this way?

I wasn't addressing you.

Recent sign-up, and obsessive about this topic. Seems a reasonable suspicion, and I asked it politely.

I agree that it would have been nice to have had more observers, but I can see how every time such openings were given, they were used to prolong things.

I will not get into word games with you malakhi

You already did that when you made the claim about the "government stomping on parent's rights".

So quit being evasive and answer the question already. What rights do parents have over the lives of their adult, married children?

Or, if this was a runaway flight of rhetoric, and you really cannot answer, then withdraw it. But you brought it up, and you should reply with either an answer or a retraction.

If we can get the link up, you might find the videos made in 1992 or 1993 in Michael's presence (he's in the vids also) where Terri is in a wheelcahir, neck brace, swallows, follows commands to transfer her gaze to things Michael points to on the lake before them, and licks her lips repeatedly. These are all things a PVS patient cannot do and were no doubt instrumental in the awards for monies to pay for rehab therapy for Terri. I'll freepmail a couple of friends who may have the links.

See #291 above http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1423508/posts?page=291#291

"How about other testimony from other doctors that did not support his findings? How about him having to concede certain points he could not support under cross examination? How about the coroner's report that was a more extensive examination of the body that says the interpretations of the scans was incorrect?"

I don't have the link to that testimony and since you were posting bonescan stuff I thought you might have the link where it was refuted.

I also think however, it's important to review things in addition to simple court documents

Since we don't directly know the parties involved, the official documents are the only source of 'facts' we have. Everything else is opinion, hearsay, conjecture, rumormongering and/or spin.

Ha, possibly you should take a second look, this was not Dr. Hammesfahr's interpretation, the interpretation was Dr. Walker!!!!!!

Pro-limited government?

Give me a break!!!

Limited government would not be in the business of killing citizens.

Limited government would not be allowing end-of-life laws to be implemented by an end-of-life panel of who knows how many euthanasists to kill us.

Limited government does not split families apart and kill members.

Limited government protects the constitutional rights of all - even the weak and those who cannot speak.

All that is required is a piece of paper stating your wishes to die and they will gladly kill you off. But, when there is no proof - limited government does not have the right to kill its citizens.

Apparently - many here are euthanasists.

Oh, by the way, Pres. Carter was the president that brought in the Living Will and it was explained to him that it would save millions of dollars as so many would chose to die early rather than put up with adverse conditions.

So, the point of the Living Wills was to convince the citizens to choose death. How very convenient for them - leaves more for the estate taxes.

Limited government stays out of people's private lives, including their medical decisions.

She never drooled, therefore she was swallowing her saliva to the tune of a liter per day. Therefore she could swallow. Her nurses used to sneak her jello and feed it to her and give her wash cloths soaked in sprite which she suckled.

Oh he's a defendent alright, just not officially. Doctors do not give depositions or testify for free.

"Her nurses used to sneak her jello and feed it to her and give her wash cloths soaked in sprite which she suckled."

Would that be the nurse who also said she called Schievo's parents regarding this, yet the parents NEVER called her to be a witness at any of the hearings ?

Just what are Schievo's parents covering this up for ?

I will likely get flamed for this, but to advocate living wills as a means to avoid 'needless expenses' is not in and of itself anti-humanitarian. One who signs a living will has the right to deny extraordinary medical intervention. Without such wills, the medical community can run amok.

No, the videos were used in court as I recall to bolster the claims for rehab monies. I've been to one degree or another involved in Terri's case since 1999, so the amount of material has a tendency to run together and the documentations are formidible. I'm not at my own computer so I cannot access the mountain of links stored there. I'll keep searching.
