I am being serious. Throughout history China has always been invaded by other people, rarely been the invader herself. You can make an argument for Tibet and Taiwan, but those are places that China considers part of China, not a foreign territory. In that part of the world Russia and Japan have been much more expansionist/imperialist than China has.
Can you say "hegemon"? China has an elaborate (yet simple) long term strategy to become the world's second superpower and they don't have to invade anyone to make it happen: (1) neutralize the US miltarily and politically in the Pacific, (2) surround us in North America using friendly surrogates (e.g. Chavez), (3) slowly bring the Middle East, the Europeans and Russians over to their side of the table via economic incentives and playing on their inbred anti-Americanism and (4) limit America's options by obtaining powerful leverage over our economy.
Sorta like Hussein considered Kuwait part of Iraq?
Remember in the run up to the war in iraq, someone released info that the chicoms wanted part of Australia. Felt they were entitled to it.
Well THEN!
"In that part of the world Russia and Japan have been much more expansionist/imperialist than China has."
Japan more expansionist/imperialist than China ? Are you still living in the 40s?
"Throughout history China has always been invaded by other people, rarely been the invader herself. You can make an argument for Tibet and Taiwan, but those are places that China considers part of China, not a foreign territory."
Tibet part of China? WOW! What a joke! So by the same count even Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Ladak, Aksai Chin and Assam qualifies as "part of China" right? So you invade them? So tomorrow you can consider India as part of China (and not a foreign territory) and you would have a case to invade it right?
