BCG is not TB vaccine - the theory is BCG stimulates immune response to infections and perhaps some cancers

wish it was more effective in both.

BCG is not a specific vaccine for TB it is an attempt to give something even if it is not all that effective

by the way TB is caused by direct contact and being PPD pos does not mean you had TB just that you were exposed-
normal healthy adults can come in contact with TB patients and have a good chance of not contracting the active disease - as anyone familiar with TB knows - it preys on the sick and underfed and is most common in crowded lower income areas.
