Apparently you haven't read the juror's remarks, have you? When they went in to deliberate fully 6 of them thought Jackson guilty - they changed their minds because they hated the mother.
And yes, the boy's deposition was believable by many. Some of the jurors wept when viewing it, and also wept when the verdicts were read.
The head juror (you know, the "annoyomous" one who has been on every talk show going) said they "thought Jackson had probably molested kids but couldn't convict".
