"You mean because we have actual intelligence and can use it?"
No because there are a lot of people that are showing that they couldn't put their predisposed beliefs one way or the other aside and render a fair verdict in this case.
My GOD...put yourself in these people's shoes. I don't envy what they had to do. Not one bit.
Put yourself in their shoes for a minute. Let's say you had made the same decisions they did. (I know you wouldn't for realy but play along for a second)
How would YOU like to have YOUR intelligence and motives for reaching the decision you made...torn apart by a bunch of armchair QB's.
For heaven's sake we're posting the BIO'S of these people on the freking internet and ridiculing them.
Yet all of us would get quite upset and outraged if the smae thing were being done to us.
I can put aside my personal beliefs.
It's the INTELLIGENCE part that this jury put away.
You're right. Its unfair for us to sit here and criticize their decision.
But when juror after juror comes out and says they were ticked off by the victim's mother... and it influenced their not guilty verdict.
We are just human too.
BTW, do you think a 40-something man who admits to taking little boys to bed regularly to serve them "some cookies...a little hot milk...." is actually being truthful?
I agree. For a moment, I was a little annoyed that some of the jurors seemed not so bright.
But, look, they are under a lot of stress. On international TV. And, let's face it, attorneys want people who can be molded, and they also have to be in a position to give up months of their lives. You didn't have to be a genius to read the writing on the wall in this case. They all agreed on the verdict and the pundits were thinking the same basic thing.
This rhetoric on FR reminds me of the Schiavo mess. But I think the same types of people gravitate to these stories.
