Sorry, but I am sure she was a straight A student, etc. Why in the heck if she was truly raped did she not report it at the time. I hate to come accross so brazen but kids will be kids and hormones will rage. Why was it when I was a kid the Catholic girls in town was at the top of the boys topics.
I've known this girl her entire life, I have absolutely no reason to disbelieve her.
cretin
You and I don't often agree, but we agree here. Of course we can't KNOW -- we weren't there. But the story sounds to me more like: daughter of devout Catholic parents feels she can't tell them what really happened, so she made up the rape story. I hope all goes well for her, regardless of what really happened. But I really feel sorry for kids whose parents are so "devout" that their kids can't talk to them about the normal activities of normal teens and young adults.
A few years back, this mentality killed a pregnant college student. She hadn't told her "devout Catholic" parents she was pregnant, and apparently hadn't told anyone but her boyfriend for fear of how the parents would react when they found out. She miscarried quite a late term fetus (IIRC it was still barely alive when they found her) in a toilet stall of the dorm bathroom and bled to death there -- while her "devout" parents were sound asleep at home, confident that their virginal daughter was safe at college.
you are brazen to post such a theory but i'll admit it crossed my mind as i read her story.
otoh, as a christian i am not called to be judge or jury, just simply a witness for my hope.
I was thinking the same thing as you when I read it.
-girl goes far away from family and their watchful eyes.
-girl from very religious family.
-virgin gets pregnant from one act of sex.
-doesn't report it.
red flags all over the place.
