Clearly the idea that the Establishment Clause might someday be taken as giving license to judges to basically attack and remove Judeo-Christian symbols from the public square would have made the Founders heads explode.
Jefferson warned us about the threat and danger of Judicial Supremacy. Sadly, his fears have come true. The Courts have given themselves the power to be the final arbiter on all things Constitutional, and the other two allegedly coequal branches have done nothing about it.
