Since we are having fun with our favorite images, here's one from Costa Rica earlier this year:

This was shot with a Kodak 6.1MP camera that I bought for the trip. I waited about 20 minutes for this shot - I'm not completely happy with it, but it'll have to do.

Thanks for the comment about the picture. One of my other daughters (I have four!), Megan, took the photo with my Kodak DX6490 while I was working the video camera and wiping tears from MY eyes!

Sorry, but my mother was a seamstress, not a teacher, except that she taught me that the those around you owe YOU nothing, YOU owe those around you your all.

Digital also means that the staff at the photo development place can't snoop on your pictures.

That's true. I develop pics at a drugstore until something better comes along and believe me, I've seen a lot. We have standards of what we can and cannot develop and of course if children are involved in any kiddie porn, we can call the authorities.

Odesy, your pics are great. Here is another one from the Rebel. This is the road going to my house right after the snow melted.

The thing that most often separates good pictures from amateur snapshots is not the subject or the pose, but instead the car, messy table, garbage can, or whatnot, in the background.

Not only that, but I've seen my share of people who take pictures of someone in the foreground where the background is a lighted window and you cannot see the facial features or anything at all, in short, they looks like a "shadow person."

Here's one more...

It's a piece of glass that I melted with a blowtorch.

Yeah, if that sicko grandfather that took the porn pictures of his own 2 year old granddaughter had used a digital camera, he would still be a free man.

Good points. I'm afraid that is one of the darker sides of digital photography, it is much easier to use it for illicit purposes. B-( Unless by pure luck or if someone speaks up, no one will know about it. Still like anything else, it can be used for good, ill or in between.

That's really a great picture. Lots of background stuff going on; the guy hugging his mom to the left with his civilian buddies looking on, the couple behind your family looking out of frame for their hero, the parents behind them congratulating their son. Good stuff!

What I love about digital is how easy it can be to get a great exsposure. This had a little fill flash and it came out perfect.

My daughter has a real eye for photography. I've told her many times how jealous I am of her ability to just snatch a moment in time and frame it so well. She just says its from being on her high school year book staff! I say it's a gift she gives to our family.

I agree with 1 and, 3 but not 2. Film is dead. Digital has surpassed film at this point.

And (hearkening back to my previous post) an example of an interesting and appealing background. Very nice shot.
