I've seen the parents on Television, and they seem incredibly inarticulate, unintelligent and uninformed.... The girl (like anybody her age) believes what her parents say and parrots it back...

The parents and the child say "the cancer is gone." Not a single Doctor has agreed with that diagnosis... On Tuesday morning, the parents response to that was "we need doctor to come forward who will say her cancer is gone... If there is a doctor hearing this, please help us..." They are LOOKING for a doctor who will IGNORE the facts and tell them what they want to hear... I sincerely hope they can't find one.

If you have a religious conviction against medicine, great... But do not impose it on your children. When they reach the age of majority, they can join in that practice. Until then, you have a duty to give them the best CONVENTIONAL medical care available. If you wish to supplement that care with alternative medicines, have at it, but don't deny your kid a fighting chance to survive...(I find it interesting that the pharmaceutical companies are 'just out for a buck,' but those marketing alternative cures who are also SELLING their products for a profit are 'altruistic healers'...)

There is no question in this case. Every doctor who has read the file agrees that radiation is the next step. I've seen a lot of people who bring up anecdotal evidence regarding breast, ovarian and colon cancers.... Hodgkin's is nothing like those and has a VERY high success rate following the currently advocated treatments. Refusing treatment in this case is similar to refusing to give antibiotics for a severe infection.... Where the the results are pretty much known in advance... take the treatment and you will most likely recover fully, or don't and risk death.
