Another whiney Californian, although I do agree we need to get the border under control.
I bet you that 10 million is a gross underestimation of the number of illegal immigrants.
Actually, the Romans did that to themselves via mad, bad emperors and rampant monetary inflation. The barbarians just moved into the ruins.
Which is about 7 million less than we have aborted since Roe v Wade.
Keep illegal aliens away!
"The Population Reference Bureau, furthermore, shows that the overwhelming number of illegals are men between 18 and 39 (43%) followed by Women between 18 and 39 (29%) with 17% being children. The age breakdown is important; it means that the bulk of the population is at prime childbearing age, or will be in a number of years. We are about to have a baby boom of children of illegal immigrants".
All of whom will be educated American Citizens, Roman Catholic and able to speak English. Can you see them taking up arms in a Mexican military in order to overthrow the US government?
In the real world, I think not.

The plan of the Hispanics in California is not to join Mexico but to form their own country. The dream of every wannabe dictator.
Why would they want to risk death and a good chance of being caught trekking across the desert when they can fly in first class as tourists, students or businessmen?
But to answer the author's stupid question, there are over a hundred thousand American troops in Afganistan and Iraq stopping the al Qaeda from crossing our border, plus tens of thousands of FBI, CIA, ICE, NSA, stationed worldwide, and foreign agency employees keeping the al Qaeda from crossing our borders or any other border.
We should all think God that President Bush isn't so stupid as to think that the place to stop terrorists is after they've already reached the border.
This article only proves that any idiot can start a blog.
Double ten million, and that's about the number of illegal aliens already here. Eighty four hospitals in California had to close because they were overrun with illegal aliens who didn't pay a dime.
"....not to join Mexico but to form their own country"
Just what the planet needs, another third world s***hole. And it would not take long to become one
And under the United States Constitution they are 100% American citizens. That is the law for those who believe that "legal vs illegal" is the only thing that matters.
Wrong history. Texas didn't impede the free flow of people back and forth across the border. That only started when the federal government started imposing a $5 fee to cross the border. Anyone could cross as long as they paid $5.
The Texas Rangers didn't care about migrant workers, only desperadoes. And you can't equate border guards to a Texas Ranger. It takes many years of outstanding law enforcement achievements to become a Texas Ranger.
People started crossing between official crossing points in order to avoid the fee. That's when patrols were started to prevent "illegal" crossings.
The author of this essay really is ignorant. He should know better than to mess with Texas history.
That's the type of gratuitous insult to American citizens of Spanish heritage that could put Hillary in the White House if they should mistakingly associate this idiot with conservatives or Republicans.
It makes all FReepers look bad even to have that type discriminatory trash posted.
Pal, I hope they all move into YOUR neighborhood.
He should have specifically mentioned the Ostrogoths who were invited into the Eastern empire by the do-gooders, and then turned against the empire when they thought they could take it all.
You are the idiot, just read the 14th and see that it means the children of citizens.
But their children will. At least in Texas and other forward thinking states that are taking extraordinary efforts to educate them to be 21st Century workplace ready.
Even if the federal government prevents us from extending to the children of our taxpayers in-state tuition rates we will find some way to give college educations to those who will reward us for educating them.
The rust belt and other states that are trying to discourage illegal immigrants by keeping their children ignorant will find their industries eventually moving to Texas and other forward looking states with a plentiful educated workplace ready labor market.
