I know freedom of speech is part of what makes America great but it makes me sick when I see our flag being burned. And, my freedom of speech allows me to say that anyone who burns our flag and hates America is a low life and should leave our great country. And, God bless, Congressman King...who, btw, gave a great talk at FR's March for Justice at the Capitol in DC. But, I was so surprised to hear Freepers defending flag burning ...guess, technically, they are correct but it still makes me sick.

not picking on any body here just trying to make point.

This is a perfect example that gets to the heart of the real problems in our country and the lower forms of life who caused them.

The burning of the American Flag is not now, never was, and never will be speech.

Speech is exactly what it is,the spoken word period!

A flag is a piece of cloth does not have vocal chords and none of them in the past, present or future will ever utter the spoken word.

In other words the fact that it is law does not keep it from being a law based on what is a totally supremely obvious lie.

I was in service when this completely idiotic, product of a deranged mind, ruling was handed down.

This is another in the long line of fabricated out of thin air destructive non existent rights that these activists black-robed judicial tyrants if not strung up outside the court building,at least should have been impeached for, .

The majority of the people in the nation at that time thought it was the most ridiculous interpretation they had ever heard.

Just because some judges wanted to push their own personal ant-war, anti U.S. agenda and others wanted to support him they perverted the written word of the Constitution and so distorted the literal meaning of the words speech and flag as to leave them with no meaning at all.

After this so obvious act of of twisting our Constitution and the English language some of us knew that they could look at any law they wanted to, call it Constitutional or Unconstitutional and completely ignore the document on which our nation was founded and our laws based.

In other words they would say what is law and what is not and it all would depend on their mood or agenda at the time and that's what they have been doing ever since.

Now the sad part is people accept that burning the flag is speech without questioning the validity of it just because some dictator in a black robe said so.

Burning the flag is no more free speech than burning the Washington Monument, the Statue of Liberty, the Supreme Court Building or flying a plane into any of them.

It's just the offensive act of a little minds who are trying to get their way and they know that in real debate they would lose. What they really seek is not honest open debate but to throw a childish tantrum to get attention.

We don't need a law to protect the flag we need this ruling overturned and any judge who supports it removed from the bench.
