I don't argue with my parents about politics. When it comes up, I'll politely listen, and correct what I know to be inaccurate statements. If I'm asked my view directly, I'll give it in a matter-of-fact, calm way. My parents are in their late 60s, and having raised their blood pressure many times as a youth, I refrain from doing so now.

It's not my family that I have the trouble with, it's my husbands. It's so funny too, here, they are the more financially well off, between families and they are so totally snowed by the democrats. I have asked them if it is right that we have to give so much of what we earn to the government. My mother-in=law says that she's entitled to her social security, well... and I'm not? duhhhhh I have to pay for her now and if there's nothing left when I get there, welllllll, too bad.
